Grades 6–8
This group meets Sunday mornings immediately after Holy Communion until about 11:00 a.m., to explore faith, doubts, and hopes together. This year the group will focus on questions of individual identity and how God calls each of us to share Christ's mission of peace, justice, and service in the world.
Young people in this group are given the opportunity to work with an adult mentor to explore the promises of the Baptismal Covenant, which they will reaffirm at Confirmation.
Grades 9–12
We offer a refuge of faith in the midst of a demanding time in young people’s lives. This year our High School group is focusing on service, working together on projects and enjoying one another’s fellowship. The High School group meets Sunday mornings with social and service activities planned for other times as well.
First Sunday of the Month
On First Sundays, our regular after-service activities, including Christian Formation, are suspended in order to provide unstructured time for fellowship for all ages.
The Episcopal Diocese of Chicago offers
New Beginnings for middle school youth, Happening for high school youth, and Camp Chicago summer camp. “Better Together,” a gathering of youth from St. Augustine’s and several other Episcopal churches on the North Shore, offers periodic get-togethers for service projects and adventure.
